Woody Allen Back In The Limelight
The controversial veteran director of the U.S cinema is back in the limelight but not for a new film he is going to direct but for the problem his already directed film has caused. All the controversy started when the American apparel company who are known for their provocative advertising used a still from Allen’s film Annie Hall back in 1977 in which he dressed as Hasidic Jew without his permission. The furious director who despises advertising reacted rather radically by calling the American apparel as sleazy and infantile, and filed a $10 million law suit against the firm.
The firm reacted rather in a more insulting way, stating woody Allen has no reputation worth a $10 million dollars and he has no reputation left to protect after the 1992 incident which brought out his affair with his step daughter rather publicly and their lawyers have stated that the only compensation that can be given for his so called ‘spoiled reputation’ is an apology. The trial to end this newly found controversy for the 73 year old is scheduled to begin in the U.S marshal court on 18th may.
